In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we will be RISING AGAINST HUNGER for the 5th consecutive year. Join us on January 20, 2020 for our annual day of service as we participate in the mission to end world hunger by 2030. Our goal is to provide 25,000 meals to feed those who are in need around the world. Each meal cost 34 cents and consists of rice, soy, vegetables and 23 essential vitamins and minerals. Join us on Sunday, 11/17 at 4:00 pm as we invite Peter Krasinski, winner of the AGO National Competition in Organ Improvisation, where he will provide improvised organ accompaniment for the 1927 silent film Wings. Starring Clara Bow, Charles “Buddy” Rogers and Richard Arlen, the Academy Award winning WWI movie was produced by Lucien Hubbard, directed by William A. Wellman, and released by Paramount Pictures. Act & Engage is a new initiative that offers the opportunity to wrestle with important issues as followers of Christ: to listen, to learn, to engage through the lens of our Christian faith. Our first topic is Criminal Justice. Join us Sunday, November 17th or Tuesday November 19th when we discuss “Just Mercy” by Bryan Stevenson. Critics say “The book provides readers a window into the justice system… The stories told within…hold the potential to transform what we think we mean when we talk about justice.” Books are $8 and available for purchase during coffee hour. Following this introduction, two additional Act and Engage events on Criminal Justice will more narrowly focus on Veterans, specifically, those involved in the justice system and dealing with PTSD and other mental health issues. On April 29, 2018, The Reverend Rebecca Segers was installed as Pastor behalf of the First Presbyterian Church in Germantown.
The installation was a joint service of the Presbytery of Philadelphia and the Congregation of the First Presbyterian Church in Germantown.

We were extremely honored to have the The Reverend Dr. James Forbes, Senior Minister Emeritus of the Riverside Church in New York City, preaching the sermon for this service.

The service included joyous music sung by the FPCG Chancel Choir and Gospel Choir, the Keystone State Boychoir and the Pennsylvania Girlchoir, and worship through liturgical dance.
A reception followed the worship service.
