Worship at First Church is in the Reformed tradition and is based on the Book of Common Worship and the Presbyterian Hymnal. The services make full use of the choral heritage of the church and are supported by the Chancel Choir, the Carol Choir and the Handbell Choir. Services occasionally include the singing of The Germantown Oratorio Choir. The services include both classical and contemporary styles of music and center on readings from the Common Lectionary. Worship at First Church is a celebration of the grace of God in Jesus Christ our Lord and the preaching is a confident proclamation of the power and relevance of the Gospel in modern life. The recently refurbished organ, with its state-of-the-art console, is the largest church organ in Philadelphia. The redesigned sanctuary is a bright, welcoming space of great beauty with magnificent Tiffany stained glass windows. The sanctuary provides an ideal setting for sharing the hope and inspiration of the Gospel and the experience of God's
love. A traditional worship service is held at 10:00 AM. Other worship opportunities are also available.
