This marks the 50th year of a series of oncerts performed at The First Presbyterian Church in Germantown. Throughout this half century there has been a long list of performers, composers and musical groups who have presented oncerts that have entertained audiences from round the greater Philadelphia area. The beautiful sanctuary of First Church has rovided the ideal setting for these concerts and
this tradition will continue for this 50th year.
As you read through the list of concerts planned or this coming year you will find some new names among some who have performed in this series or years. It is a varied list of performers, each bringing special talents to share with you.
As has been true for the concert series throughout hese 50 years, remains true still, there is no admission charge. A free will offering will be collected at each concert to help defray costs. Generous gifts from patrons also make it possible to offer these performances available

We recognize music as the universal language of humanity, and have consistently communicated love, praise, worship, and service to God and community through our outstanding Concert Series...now in its 50th season!
The First Presbyterian Church in Germantown is proud to provide exceptional music in this 50th annual Concert Series. There is no admission charge for any of the concerts. However, a free-will offering will be conducted at each. There is ample parking in both church and nearby parking lots, and along neighboring streets.

The Germantown Oratorio Choir, now in it's forty-eighth year and employing its fourth artistic director, is a major component to the Concert Series. This choir is a community-based organization offering the greater Germantown community the opportunity to perform the great classical choral compositions of the ages as well as major contemporary compositions, all accompanied by orchestra.
Members of The Oratorio Choir receive an educational benefit as well as a musical and cultural experience. Educational instruction during rehearsals includes: the technical properties of singing (vocal production), English, French, German, Italian and Latin diction (pronunciation skills), as well as reading a music score (sight singing instruction).
