African Children’s Choir
The African Children’s Choir was in concert at First Church last December. Click here to see photos from that concert. Although many are orphans or come from very poor families the children, radiated joy, enthusiasm and optimism. In many cases families must pay for their children to go to school and as a result many do not have the opportunity for an education.
The African Children’s Choir has been working with the most vulnerable children in Africa for 26 years. Their mission was, and still is, to show the world that Africa’s most needy and vulnerable children have beauty, dignity, and unlimited ability. Each year a new choir is selected and the children from the previous year’s choir return to their homelands to attend school.

The Reverend Carmen Goetschius will be the guest preacher at worship this Sunday, July 11th.
She currently serves the Arch Street Presbyterian Church in Center City as the Minister of Evangelism and Discipleship. This historic congregation is attempting to unearth a new and faithful identity as it responds to the changing demographics and needs of the city.
Ms. Goetschius hails from the Pacific Northwest, received her M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary in 2007, and most recently served at Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church in New York City as their first Global Ministry Fellow before coming to Philadelphia. After seminary, she taught in Zambia for one year and has traveled extensively throughout the Global South.
She is delighted to join The First Presbyterian Church of Germantown for worship!

We Need You!
It’s almost summer time for the FPCG choir.... the professional section leaders will be off and the Chancel Choir will be an all volunteer choir.
On Sunday, June 6th the Summer Choir will begin and we need your voice!
Rehearsals will be held on Sundays mornings beginning at 8:30 AM and ending around 9:30.
If you can’t make a commitment for the entire summer, come when you can. We will be singing music that is a bit easier than our usual fare with the hope of engaging more volunteers from the congregation.
Give David Daugherty a call at 215-843-8811, ext. 21, for more information.
