G-town Artists Roundtable 5/17 @ 7pm
If you are an artist of any genre who lives and/or works in Germantown, you are invited to the next Germantown Artists Roundtable here at FPCG, Thursday, May 17 at 7:00 PM.
We’re building an inventory of individuals, venues, and art treasures in our community. We’re also constructing a calendar of existing arts events while brainstorming and planning new ones.
Contact Reverend Porter or go to newsworks.org and search “Arts Roundtable” for more information.

Meet at FPCG this Tuesday (5/1) at 3:00pm
Unfortunately, each day’s news brings another account of how gun violence continues to plague our city. Thankfully, FPCG is actively engaged in Neighborhood Partners to End Gun Violence (NPEG), an interfaith organization of congregations in northwest Philadelphia.
For months, NPEG has sponsored a prayer vigil in front of Delia’s Gun Shop on Torresdale Ave. in the hope that the owner of the shop would adopt a “Code of Conduct” reducing the practice of “straw purchases” (i.e. when someone who can legally purchase a gun resells it to those who cannot legally purchase firearms).
You can join Rev. Porter and others in the next vigil on Tuesday, May 1 meeting at FPCG at 3:00 PM and returning by 5:00 PM.
Contact Rev. Porter or visit http://heedinggodscall.org for more info.

Help transport people to church
Each Sunday several members and friends of First Church are transported to and from church via the church van.
At this time we need two drivers, one to drive the first Sunday of month and one for the occasional fifth Sunday. A regular driver’s license is all that is needed. Christian Heyer- Rivera provides the training needed to drive the van.
If interested please contact Rosy Walkenhorst at 267-808-2865.

There are so many ways that you can be a part of this event which has, in just a few short years, become a popular family-friendly event on both the church and community calendar.

The award is given for outstanding leadership and service to the church and to the mission of the Seminary. Jack has served on the Seminary’s President’s Council and provided strong leadership for the organization’s capital campaigns and strategic planning.
