Save the Date: JUNE 12th!
Pentecost Sunday, June 12 will be very special at First Church this year. We are urging as many former members of the church to return as possible.
Already a large group of former young people who were taught by Bill and Bea Gardner are planning to be here- last year some came from as far away as Alaska!

Caring For Those Who Morn....
The Deacons are asking for volunteers who can assist members and families during times of bereavement.
Duties will vary depending on need but will include ushering and distributing bulletins during the memorial service, assisting at the repast, running errands or lending a sympathetic ear.
Please call Heidi Mercado-Littles at 215-967-1503 if you are interested in being part of this special ministry.

Serving Our Community
Spring is a busy time for our friends at the Germantown Avenue Crisis Ministry.
Take a look at these opportunities to get involved and support this valuable community outreach:
Volunteer Needs:
We are recruiting volunteers willing to be trained as energy counselors. Energy Counselors work directly with clients to assist them in resolving utility and conservation issues. For more information contact Sherry Archer or Eileen Jones.
Food Donation suggestions:
Fill a bag of groceries and include small size (1 or 2 lbs packages) of rice, flour and sugar.

Saturday, May 7th from 11:00am-5:00pm
During the year, FPCG has the opportunity to be involved in four events in the area: Mt. Airy Day, McMichael/East Falls Flea Market, the People’s Festival and Revolutionary Germantown.
At each of these venues, our members greet the public with balloons, brochures and explanations about the church.
The next event will be Mt. Airy Day to be held on Saturday, May 7, 2011, from 11:00am to 5:00pm. We need as many members of the church as we can get to help staff the table. We very much want that assistance to reflect the diversity, outreach and mission of the church.
