Give Me That Ol’ Time Religion might be the best title for this month’s Bread and Cup,this Sunday, November 6, from 7:00 to 9:00pm
At press time, we are expecting gospel singer Joseph Watkins as the headliner for our inter-generational and multicultural coffeehouse. If that name’s familiar, it’s because he’s performed at Bread and Cup before, most recently as one of the Gospel Stirrers—a close harmony vocal group. He’s also the brother of FPCG staff member Harry Watkins (who has more performing credits himself than most congregants know)! With enough prompting, we may be able to get Harry to join his brother for a number or two!
Reverend Kevin has a couple other surprises up his sleeve for this Bread and Cup, so plan to join us in Longstreth Auditorium for a warm evening of inspiration, fun and fellowship just when the evenings start to get cold.

A simple and convenient way to show your Generosity
This fall we are asking all FPCG members and friends to consider signing up for electronic giving.
The First Presbyterian Church in Germantown relies on the financial support of the congregation and electronic giving offers an easy way to give on a recurring basis. Many in our congregation give in this way and find it very helpful.
Please contact Kathy Charlesworth at the church office for details 215-843-8811.

This Sunday, October 23 after Worship!
The annual Deacons‘ Day Brunch is a wonderful opportunity for you to spend time with the deacon assigned to your family, as well as other members and friends of the congregation.
With the help of the Congregational Development and Fellowship Committee, a delicious brunch will be served ($5.00 suggested donation).
FPCG members recently received an invitation from their deacons. Please call the church or your deacon and let us know that you will be coming - your presence will help us learn how to serve one another better as brothers and sisters in Christ.

Be A Part of the Solution
Are you looking for ways to get involved in making Germantown an even better place to live and/or work? Whatever your interests or gifts, FPCG can most likely help you connect with community organizations that can make use of them!
In recent months Germantown Community Connection (GCC) has been in the news as the organization engaged in conversation with the developer of the Chelten Plaza on the former Fresh Grocer site in order to bring about positive design changes and commitments to the community. However, GCC’s mission extends well beyond this project:
GCC was instrumental in garnering the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission’s designation of Germantown as a “Classic Town.” As such, Germantown’s profile has become heightened for development, tourism, and other economic investment.
GCC’s Artists’ Roundtable has caught the attention of several city agencies including the Planning Commission and the Mayor’s Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy—both of which have recognized this grass-roots organization of artists as a vital resource in improving the quality of life in Germantown.

Electronic Pledge Payment
Many things have changed in our world and that includes methods to deliver your offerings to our church. Traditionally cash and checks are given each Sunday when the offering plate is passed, however, there are viable alternatives.
Many of our members have chosen the direct deposit method – in this method you authorize the church to have your offering, in whatever periodic method you choose, to be directly transferred from your bank account to the church. You will see this on your bank statement as well as your giving statement provided by our church. This method does require you to establish “continuing” or regular dates for your contributions but this can be modified, if needed, by your request.
