Join Us Thursday, Nov 17th at 7pm
The Germantown Community Connection (GCC)’s second Artists’ Roundtable will be held at FPCG this Thursday at 7:00pm. This is an opportunity for all artists who live and/or work in Germantown to network with one another and learn how they can be active participants in improving the quality of life of our community.
Matt Wysong, the Planning Commission’s official representative for the northwest, will be in attendance to share his vision of how artists of all types can be integral in the city’s plan for the neighborhood. The Artists’ Roundtable was conceived by our own Reverend Kevin Porter in conjunction with Dr. Vivia Nix-Early of the arts organization Build-A-Bridge as part of GCC’s “Classic Towns” Initiative.

Give Me That Ol’ Time Religion might be the best title for this month’s Bread and Cup,this Sunday, November 6, from 7:00 to 9:00pm
At press time, we are expecting gospel singer Joseph Watkins as the headliner for our inter-generational and multicultural coffeehouse. If that name’s familiar, it’s because he’s performed at Bread and Cup before, most recently as one of the Gospel Stirrers—a close harmony vocal group. He’s also the brother of FPCG staff member Harry Watkins (who has more performing credits himself than most congregants know)! With enough prompting, we may be able to get Harry to join his brother for a number or two!
Reverend Kevin has a couple other surprises up his sleeve for this Bread and Cup, so plan to join us in Longstreth Auditorium for a warm evening of inspiration, fun and fellowship just when the evenings start to get cold.

Support FPCG’s own DeVonte Johnson (DJ), a KSB Alumni
In celebration of its tenth anniversary season, Keystone State Boychoir (KSB) is proud to host the first ever B1K!
B1K! stands for Boychoir of 1,000! History will be made when 1,000 boys come together to sing on Sunday October 30 at 3pm in Verizon Hall. The festival will include performances not only by Keystone State Boychoir but also by four of the other top boy choirs of the region as well as a special international guest choir.
Perhaps the most exciting aspect of the festival is the grand finale when 500 additional local singers will join the six choirs to form a choir of 1,000 singers. First Church’s own DeVonte Johnson, DJ, is now an active alumni member and will be singing.
If you are interested in finding out more information please speak to Contina Lundy, 215-512-8824 or . If 15 people or more are interested, we can get a group rate when purchasing our tickets.
