What a winter we have had! And it is not over yet; it looks like more difficult weather is headed our way this week.
Sometimes it is necessary to cancel our worship service. Such a decision is made at the last minute and in case of such an emergency, we will have the cancellation announced on KYW Radio (1060 AM) and local television stations.
During the week if the Philadelphia Public Schools are closed due to inclement weather the church will also be closed.
Always use your best judgment about venturing out in bad weather.

Join us for our Christmas Eve services this Friday, December 24th.
10:30pm Nativity Concert
11:00pm Candelight Service of Lessons and Carols
This Christmas, as we joyfully celebrate the birth of our Lord, may each of us receive into our hearts the gift of this one that was so generously given to us . . . the gift of God’s Son. And may we always allow him to live within us and to shine through all that we say and do.
FPCG Staff Christmas Gifts
Christmas is a time when we can show our appreciation to our staff for all they do during the year to serve our congregation and community. Most of us have experienced the “extra” each of these staff members put into their job.
Staff Appreciation Christmas Gifts will be given to: Kevin, Eileen, David, Christian, Heidi, Kathy, Sally, Terry, Harry and Whaley just prior to the holiday.
You can share in these appreciation gifts by sending your contribution (checks made out to The First Presbyterian Church in Germantown) to the Personnel Committee.

This year, the December Bread and Cup will be combined with the Christian Education Committee’s Christmas Festival for all ages.
On December 19 at 3:00, FPCG members and friends will celebrate the Christmas season with our neighbors of all ages. The Congregational Development Committee will provide snacks, hot soup and bread and you are invited to bring a dessert to share.
The activities will include a Christmas pageant (designed to include any and all youth who attend), gingerbread house construction and other crafts, a live nativity in our parking lot, a Christmas carol sing, special entertainment from choir soloist Jessie Padgett and several FPCG members, and an open microphone portion for your talent.
This will be a wonderful event to bring friends and family. Admission is free, with donations gratefully received. Talk to Christian Heyer-Rivera for more information.

We are proud to host the Presbybop Quartet on October 31st.
Presbybop Music is a musical venture of Bill Carter, jazz pianist and Presbyterian minister. After years of pretending to split the life of faith from the music of jazz, Bill has been trying to find links between the two halves of his brain. Presbybop Music is his attempt to integrate his strong Presbyterian faith with the rhythms of bebop.
In 1993 he formed the Presbybop Quartet with Al Hamme, his college music professor from Binghamton University. Beginning with original lineup of drummer Tom Whaley and bassist Tony Marino, the band has evolved into a consort of musicians who have been turning heads on the musical scene - and adding new dimensions to the faith and worship of the Christian church.
