Go deeper into God’s Word
Serendipity
This is a great time to join the Serendipity Bible Study which meets Sundays at 11:30 in the Jennings Room. The group is engaged in a 13-week survey of the book of Revelation.
Serendipity’s conversational format is designed to be enjoyable, informational, and inspirational for both those new to Bible study and seasoned veterans. It has grown in popularity at FPCG and is a wonderful way to get to know a broad cross section of our members and friends. Please bring your second cup of coffee with you after coffee hour and join us!
Lenten Bible Study: Gun Violence
Each year during Lent, FPCG offers a series of Adult Education opportunities intended to deepen our faith and our understanding of how our faith and public policy influence each other.
This year’s Lenten Bible study series will be an outgrowth of the Presbytery of Philadelphia’s commitment to “Heeding God’s Call”. Please see the literature table or contact Rev. Kevin Porter for more information.

The Committee on Mission Oversight (COMO), which provides leadership and oversight of the Presbytery of Philadelphia’s mission and vision, is pleased to announce the selection of an Interim Executive Presbyter to guide and accompany the Presbytery and its staff through the transition toward permanent staffing of the Executive Presbyter position. COMO, on behalf of the Presbytery, has contracted with the Rev. Lucy Rupe to begin her service on February 15, 2011.
Lucy will be officially introduced and welcomed at the Stated Meeting of the Presbytery of Philadelphia on March 22, 2011. Please add Lucy to your prayers as she responds to the call of God to join us in this important time of growth and renewal!
“Within the Church, people participate in reciprocal relationships with those committed to strive to live the life modeled by Christ. From this supportive community, strength and courage are received to go out and touch a world in need of the Good News of God’s saving love...Jesus Christ!” From Lucy Rupe’s Statement of Faith, January 2011
Dr. Rupe has been an occasional visitor to the First Presbyterian Church in Germantown; she spoke at Dr. Nancy Muth’s installation and was the main speaker for the Women’s Retreat two years ago.
