Mr.Dain Perry, a member of the family chronicled in the documentary Traces of the Trade, will be a guest preacher at FPCG at this Sunday’s worship (Oct 17).
Later in the afternoon, Traces of the Trade: A Story from the Deep North will be screened at FPCG at 4:00 pm that same day. Dain and Constance, his wife, will also be at the screening and will lead the discussion which follows. This screening is presented by Neighborhood Interfaith Movement (NIM).
About the Film:
In the feature documentary Traces of the Trade: A Story from the Deep North, filmmaker Katrina Browne discovers that her New England ancestors were the largest slave-trading family in U.S. history. We’ve Missed You!
This Sunday, September 12th First Church will welcome our Pastor, Dr. Nancy Muth, back to First Church following her three month Sabbatical.
Following worship on that date all members of the congregation are invited to a special barbecue luncheon to express our thanksgiving for Nancy’s safe return and to have an opportunity to hear of her experiences and to view some of the pictures she took.
Plan to be in church on the 12th and to stay for an enjoyable meal and program.
