Thanksgiving Food Drive
Volunteer for Basket Distribution on November 18,19, and 22nd
The Germantown Avenue Crisis Ministry (GACM) for the past several years has conducted a very successful Thanksgiving event by providing a total Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings to over 200 families in our community. This wonderful undertaking could not and can not take place without your continued support. We have the best members in the world and we thank God for your generosity.
In order to continue this tradition, we once again reach out to you for your food and financial support as well as your physical assistance. There are many ways you can help!
We need volunteers to collect food, assemble gift baskets and help out on distribution days. As a volunteer, you will be asked to bag food, make pick ups, stock shelves and assist as needed. Help will be needed before and during the basket distribution dates of November 18, 19 and 22. See Eileen Jones to add your name to the list of volunteers.

Contributions of turkeys, roast chickens, chicken breasts, canned vegetables, potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy, desserts and all the ingredients that make the dinner whole are needed. We have the capacity to store all the donated poultry so please free to bring these items to the church during the next couple of weeks. A wheelbarrow will be in the front of the church for your donations.
Those of you receiving turkey vouchers from your employers that you do not plan to use, please donate the vouchers to the church, and we promise we will make good use of your generosity. If you are really entrepreneurial and want to conduct a food drive at your place of employment, you should see Eileen Jones. We assure you that all items obtained will be picked up and delivered to the church. Some of you did this last year, and it was just great.
If you are a member of our congregation, and in need of a Thanksgiving basket, please see Eileen Jones or Heidi Littles. Your privacy will be respected. If you know of someone in need of a basket, they should contact Eileen or Heidi. Each recipient is screened and updated information is secured for our files to ensure we are providing a needed service for our families.
With your loving hearts and helping hands, we will succeed in accomplishing the mission God has set before us.
