Germantown Avenue Crisis Ministry
The Germantown Avenue Crisis Ministry (GACM) mission is ”to connect at risk Northwest Philadelphia residents to resources within themselves and the community that resolve their crisis, stabilize their lives and equip them to take the next step(s) toward self sufficiency.”
As a newly designated NEC Center (Neighborhood Energy Center), the ministry is now better equipped to fulfill our mission. Now we can provide:
- Comprehensive energy and related home repair services and budget counseling for LIHEAP intake
- CRISIS outreach/advocacy
- UESF
- Individual energy education
- Conservation and weatherization resources
- Information and referral services
Note: Most programs are targeted toward low to moderate income households.
Applications are being taken for LICAP a water conservation program that offers minor plumbing repairs and installation of conservation devices on toilets, faucets, etc. Weatherization applications are also being taken.
UESF, a fresh start for utilities program will open soon. The program provides up to $1500 toward your PGW or PECO account and up to $500 for water if the assistance will bring your total bill to zero.
Speak to Eileen Jones for more information regarding how GACM's programs can benefit you. The Ministry is open Monday's by appointment, Thursday 10am-3pm, Friday 1pm-4pm.
