We are excited to announce that our church will be a stop on The African Children’s Choir™ tour!
The choir will perform on Thursday, December 10th at 7:00pm.
The African Children’s Choir™ is made up of some of the neediest and most vulnerable children in their countries. Many have lost one or both parents to poverty or disease. The Choir helps these children break away from the everyday cycle of poverty and hopelessness.

It has been a year since we started our 200th anniversary journey. It has been twelve months filled with great fun and memories. As part of our anniversary celebration weekend, we are pleased to have Cameron Carpenter in concert!
At 3:00pm on October 18th, Mr. Carpenter will perform on our wonderful McLean organ.
Mr. Carpenter is a renowned organist who is quite the entertainer and plays like none other. Last year he was a Grammy nominee! Learn more about him here: http://www.cameroncarpenter.com/
God has blessed First Church in so many ways and for that we are truly thankful. Come and be a part of our celebration as we continue to remember those years gone by, joyfully participate in this current time and as we look forward to where God is leading us.

Next to be featured on the FPCG concert series is Warren Cooper and the Alexander/Cooper Project. They’ll be at the church on Sunday afternoon, April 26th, at 3:00 p.m. for a celebration of the Sacred Spirit in jazz.
The Alexander/Cooper Project is a band of professional musicians who have played all over the country and the globe. The group includes Warren Cooper, vocals; Tim Warfield, saxophone; Andrae Alexander, piano; Dexter Whitaker, bass; and Leon Alexander, drums.
These guys have real juice! A list of artists that members of the band have appeared with reads like a Who’s Who of jazz, gospel, and R & B: Dizzy Gillespie, Patti Labelle, Smokey Robinson, Nicholas Payton, Shirley Caesar, and Billy Preston to name just a few.
But is jazz really appropriate for the worship of God? Jazz… with its blue notes, its hot licks, and its swaggering flights of improvisational fancy? Let’s think about that for a moment.
