Spend Holy Week with Us at FPCG!
Holy Week begins this Sunday, April 1st, with Palm Sunday. You are invited to journey with Christ from the streets of Jerusalem to the upper room to the cross and out of the tomb that week as we worship together that week.
On Maundy Thursday evening there will be a special communion service in the round held in Longstreth Auditorium at 7:30pm.
On Good Friday, join us for a candlelight Tenabrae service when we leave the sanctuary in darkness.
Then on Easter Sunday morning we will re-enter a bright and beautifully decorated sanctuary to the smell of lilies and the joy of knowing that we come to worship a risen Christ!
We look forward to seeing you in church!

The Christian Education Committee thanks the many FPCG members and friends who made the December 18 event such a rousing success!
During the course of the afternoon, nearly 100 participants of all ages from the church and the community had viewed the live nativity in the FPCG parking lot on their way to the Primary Room and Longstreth Auditorium where they made gingerbread houses and other holiday arts and crafts.
Soups, chili, and hot apple cider were provided to warm the body while a program featuring our children in a wonderful Christ-mas play, The Unfriendly Beasts, special music, a carol sing and a visit from Santa and his helpers warmed the spirits of the “standing-room only” crowd.

Join a 365 Prayer Challenge and lift up First Pres
By Contina Lundy
We come from a rich history of believers, and we are still going strong. Join me for the next 365 days, starting December 1st to lift up the name of First Church. We will cover the building, the staff, the members, friends and our budget in prayer.
But first, a little background. Sometime ago I joined First Church, I won’t share the date because doing that will share my age! Anyway, I remember sharing my statement of faith and how important my prayer life was to me. Prayer was something that I didn’t ever question because of the strong foundation my parents, Mary and Frank Lundy, set for me. I understood at a young age that when you pray and believe God for who He is, great and wonderful things can occur.

And don’t forget to stay for dinner! Tickets for this year’s Christmas Dinner which follows the Concert are now available for purchase on Sundays after worship and during the week through the church office.
