Strategic Planning
Workshop This Saturday, Nov 19th. Open to all FPCG members!
As Thanksgiving is approaching and then the Christmas season, many of us are involved in planning. Planning takes time and takes effort, but unless we plan, our intentions may not be realized. It is for this reason that the Session has entered into a Strategic Planning process this spring.
Elders have met twice with a consultant who is guiding the Session, in examining our mission and discerning what ministry and mission we are being called to do in the next five to ten years. Teams of officers and church members are currently being assembled to set goals and strategies for several ministry areas of The First Presbyterian Church in Germantown.
From there we will look at all that we are doing to evaluate if our programs and ministries fit with the determined goals and strategies. We will also determine what resources are available to fund what we believe we are being called by God to do. This planning process will best be accomplished with many officers, staff and congregational members participating. You may be asked to serve on one of the teams being formed. Please seriously consider accepting that invitation.
You are also invited to participate in a Saturday morning workshop, November 19, beginning at 9:00AM. Consider this your personal invitation to attend and participate in the planning that will be done on that date.
Also know that once a plan is determined and approved by the Session it will be presented to the congregation. We hope this will happen sometime late winter or early spring of 2012. I ask for your prayers for our church during these coming months as our planning will determine
our future. May what we plan be according to God’s will.
See you in church!
