MLK Day of Service
What a wonderful day of service we had on Monday, January 18.
About sixty people came to The First Presbyterian Church in Germantown to perform a variety of jobs.
There was a crew, mostly of Property Committee members, down near the Youth Lounge and Gym repairing a wall that had major water damage. Others spent time working in the Youth Lounge.
Madeline Valentine led a group of women in the kitchen who inventoried the china in the kitchen as well as cleaned the cupboards and counters.
The Worship and Music Committee and others were in the sanctuary dusting, washing and polishing. The Christian Education Committee were up in the classrooms and also in the nursery washing toys and sorting clothes.
Eileen Jones had many join her in the Crisis Ministry area.
Other tasks completed included cleaning closets in Longstreth Auditorium, the Resource Room, windows and woodwork around the balcony and common areas of the church, and more.
Thank you to all who helped to make our church building more effective for our ministry!
