PHILADELPHIA URBAN MINISTRY INSTITUTE SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Last year’s PUMI events were designed to inspire participants and we discovered many opportunities for ministering in our communities.
We heard from congregational leaders, and visited ministries where we learned that churches do not have to be large in order to provide effective and meaningful outreach ministries.

This year we are partnering with Tony Campolo’s School for Social Change. Some of our leaders will be from Eastern University and some workshops will be part of the School’s curriculum.

These workshops are designed for both ministers and church members.

The PUMI workshops are FREE for as many persons from your congregation who would like to attend. The only charges will be
for lunches, transportation for trips and workshops of the
School for Social Change (scholarships are available).

Why should you and your congregation be a part of PUMI?

Urban and suburban churches face many
of the same challenges in their communities.

As we meet together we have the opportunity to learn from one
another and partner together.

We all need to be concerned about welfare of Philadelphia!
“Seek the welfare of the city . . . and pray to the Lord on its behalf,
for in its welfare you will find your welfare.”  Jeremiah 29:7

Excellent leaders are scheduled to share their experiences with us
and the tools we need for our community ministries.
IT IS FREE!!!

What to Do When People Come Knocking
At Your Church Door

All congregations have people come on Sundays and during the week asking for help. Churches are known for our compassion and mercy that we offer in the name of Jesus Christ.  Unfortunately we are not always able to help those who come to our doors.  This workshop will tell of ways that we might be able to offer assistance and suggestions of places that can help others find the assistance they may need.
