SEPTEMBER 23
Keystone State Boychoir
First Church’s Artists in Residence,
Keystone State Boychoir will be sharing
music from their summer tour to Australia

OCTOBER 21
David Daugherty
David C. Daugherty begins his first year as
Director of Music and Organist at The First Presbyterian Church in Germantown.
His organ recital will include familiar works by Johann Sebastian Bach
as well as works by John Cook, Marcel Dupre, Cesar Franck, and Myron Roberts.
Daugherty a native of Western Pennsylvania has served churches
in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area, Destin, Florida and Wilmington Delaware.
The Program chosen will showcase some of the truly unique qualities
of First Church’s large and unique pipe organ.

Philadelphia Sinfonia, now in its 11th season,
will present “An Afternoon of Russian Delights.” 
Music will feature "Festive Overture, Op 96" Dmitri Schostakovich,
"Variations in a Theme by Tchaikovsky," Anton Arensky,
"Berceuse" and "Finale" from “Firebird Suite” Igor Stravinsky
and Excerpts from “Scheherazade,” Op 35, Nickolay Rimsky-Korsakov

MARCH 9
The Philadelphia Youth Orchestra
The Germantown Oratorio Choir
Louis Scaglione, Conductor
Once again we welcome the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra to
our concert series; they will play “Symphony No.1 in E minor,”
Opus 39 by Jean Sibelius, a truly romantic work portraying
Sibelius’s love for Tchaikovsky’s music. The orchestra will also
accompany the Germantown Oratorio Choir in “Requiem”
by Gabriel Faure, a beautifully haunting work, one of
Faure’s most beloved compositions.

APRIL 20
Commonwealth Girl Choir
A diverse program of choral music from the Baroque
to Gospel performed by the Motet Choir, Troubadors and Trouveres.
This concert will be a preview of the music for
the girls’ summer tour in Italy

MAY 4
Choral Arts Society
Music for a Royal Occasion -
featuring music written for the coronations,
weddings and funerals of the English Royal Family
including Handel's "Coronation Anthems,"
Parry's "I was glad" and John Tavener's "Songs for Ahtene,"
which was performed at Princess Diana's funeral.
